  • (Emma Ruf P: 2) 1: Population
  • 2: Genetic Variation
  • 2: Overproduction of Offspring
  • In the lost jungle of Enchanted Blossom, there is a secret population of multiple species of monkeys. They live, fighting for their life among their predators, leopards, jaguars, and other large cats that roam the jungle floor.
  • 4: Competition & Natural Selection
  • Genetic variation in these rare monkeys have 2 differences. One variation is a monkey that has a tail. The other variation is a monkey that doesn't have a tail. The ones that don't have tail cannot swing and travel the treetops unlike those who do have a tail.
  • 5: Adaptation
  • Over time though, the monkeys had too much fun and overpopulated the jungle with monkeys. There were now an even amount of monkeys that had tails and monkeys that didn't have tails. The monkeys that didn't have tails seemed to get more confused as well.
  • Evolution Has Occurred
  • In these monkeys, they have one big predator, leopards. They like to roam the ground and kill all of the monkeys that they can reach. So, unfortunately the monkeys that are unable to travel in the tree tops away from the leopards get killed..
  • Im dead
  • Since monkeys with tails are most likely to live longer than the monkeys without tails (because of predators), the trait of having a tail will be passed on and on down through generations. This trait will then most likely ADAPT to most monkeys.
  • Evolution, especially in this special case, happened slowly. In fact, it took over 150 years for monkeys to fully grow tails in most of every species. Now only a certain species of apes don't have tails.
