- Alex talks with the school counselor, looking a bit unsure
- Counselor: “Hey, Alex. Your teacher told me you’ve been having some difficulties with reading and writing.”
- Alex : “Yeah… It’s like no matter what I do, I can’t get the words right.”
- Counselor: “You’re not alone in this. We have a tutoring program where students work together. It might help to practice in a smaller group.”
- Alex : “I guess it’s worth a try.”
- Glisser: 2
- Alex joins a group with a tutor, feeling nervous.
- Tutor : “Welcome, everyone! Today we’re going to practice reading aloud and retelling stories in our own words.”
- Alex : “What if I mess up?”
- Tutor: “Mistakes are just part of learning. Let’s take it one step at a time.”
- Alex (reading hesitantly): “Th-the… boy… went to the… mar-ket.”
- Glisser: 3
- Alex and the tutor work one-on-one.
- Tutor: “Let’s start with a simple sentence. What’s the story about?”
- Alex: “A boy helping his family.”
- Tutor: “Perfect. Now add why he did that.”
- Alex (writing): “The boy helps his family because they need money.”
- Tutor: “Great! See how breaking it down makes it easier?”
