- Abuse is something no child should experience. In this poem, the poet describes her children having to go through abuse. She says that the abuse her husband has done snatched the joy from their children.
- This picture shows the mother comforting her child. In the poem, she says that she is the only parent that cares. She is only parent who will always care and be there
- Why does he hate me!?He only cares about his beers!
- The poet describes the father always being mad and bitter. She says that the children fear the dad. She says that their children have dealt with so much.
- If you treated them with care, then they will be there for you when you are old, but you didn't, and they will remember this
- This teen is the eldest son. The poet describes two children, but she shows the eldest son has been through a lot more. This picture shows the eldest son having to fight/fear demons inside his head for this is how the poet used their words.
- The poet describes again how she is the only parent that cares. She says that her eldest son went to her many times in tears, asking her why their dad hates them. This is caused because the dad pretends as if his children don't exist.
- In the end, the poet talks to the father saying that his actions will affect him in the future. He will be alone, longing for his children. If he cared for them, then they would care for him, but that will not be the case because to them, he is dead.
