- Scout and Jim meet a boy named Dill, who has come to live in their neighborhood for the summer. They spend the summer with each other, and they act out stories together.
- The trio becomes fascinated with the mysterious Radley Mansion. They have a burning desire to see what Boo Radley does all day long, inside.
- Scout, Jim, and Dill sneak onto the Radley property late at night. Nathan Radley shoots at them.
- News comes that Atticus, Scout's dad, will be defending Tom Robinson in a case. Because of this, Scout and Jim have to endure a bullying at school from many people in their conservative, racist community.
- Your father is defending a bad man! You are a black man lover!
- During the case trial, Atticus Finch and Tom Robinson fight hard to prove a verdict of "NOT GUILTY." Unfortunately, the verdict is delivered that Tom Robinson is guilty.
- Tom Robinson is not guilty!
- Tom Robinson is guilty!
- While Jem and Scout are walking home from the Halloween Party, they are attacked by a very angry Mr. Ewell. However, Boo Radley intervenes, and stabs Mr. Ewell to death. Finally, Scout and Jim see the real Boo Radley, and thank him for his selfless act.
- I'm going to kill you!
