- Jean Baptiste François Pompallier has finally arrived in New Zealand after discovering this island with the thought of spreading Christianity to the people
- going on a solo mission as his other partners has already been assigned to their missions of spreading christianity
- Bishop Pompallier would feel sympathetic towards the Maori's concerns, and would enlighten himself to the Maori
- cultures and traditions and establishing numerous amounts of churches and shelters. this was also the time where treaty of Waitangi would be signed assisting in numerous missions during this becoming a great help

- Pompallier completes his mission and returns to Puteaux, France; even though he didn't live a long life, it was all worthwhile; on December 21, 1871, he passed away at the age of 69, following a lengthy funeral in his own country. He would eventually be laid to rest. When the Maori were made aware of this, they decided to construct shrines or little memorials in remembrance of bishop Pompallier.
