- Parris is yelling at Thomas Putnam, and declares him only caring about his own reputation.

- Parris was not in this act, therefore we can only assume he is doing nothing.
- Act 2
- In this act, Parris is still acting selfish and is instigating problems. This is how the character speaks and acts.

- Parris asks Proctor a question that he knows Proctor will get wrong, just to get to state a know it all comment.
- 3. "I think not, or you should surely know that Cain were an upright man, and yet he did kill Abel."
- 1. "Do you read the Gospel, Mr. Proctor?"

- Remorse
- "I can only say, sir, that I never found any of them naked, and this man is-"
- Parris takes back his claim. He changed over the course of the play and is now regretting everything he has said, and is paying back.
