- Okay class! You and your group will now present what you have about your dream careers. Take turns talking and make sure to include all the details.
- Okay! My groups dream career is being a microbiologist! They study microorganisms and learn more things about them.
- They usually study bacteria, viruses, algae, fungi and some parasites.
- They earn about $84.400 per year. In order to become one, you'll need a bachelor's degree in microbiology.
- Students will need to take science, biology, chemistry, biochemistry and physics.
- Yup! Microbiologists need communicational skills to be able to communicate with other scientists in their lab. Also, they need logical and observational skills to conduct experiments in the lab.
- I personally think some benefits of being an microbiologist is being able to do experiments and possibly studying new organisms. But also, some cons about this job is that experiments can go wrong, and scientists may get hurt due to it.
- There isn't exactly a way to advance in this career, but if you take a bigger step and pursue a higher education, like a Ph.D, you will get a leading role in labs.
- Also, since this job requires a lot of education, getting/finding a new job may be difficult. Becoming a microorganism means you need to get a degree in microbiology and it may be hard to use that degree somewhere else, although it may be useful if you want to get a different job thats similar to microbiology.
