I wonder what the different types of agriculture there is?
Well there is subsistence agriculture and there is commercial agriculture
Commercial Farming is used to make money and support large companies, they often grow cash crops in which they sell to multiple nations. A cash crop is one that is used for its sell value and not used for the farmer. A example is this cotton field.
This is often found in Most Developed Countries (MDCs) Such as America.
Subsistence Farming on the other hand is one that is used to sustain the farmer himself and his family. So the crops grown are often ones that are cheap and can feed him. This type of farming is found in LDCs or Least Developed Countries.
They also sell to local markets every now and than.
Wow, that makes so much sense.
Howdy! But do you know the difference between intensive and extensive agriculture huh?
Oh You bet your bottom dollar.
Intensive Agriculture is a type of Subsistence Agriculture in which lots of labor is used relative to land area. This is found in LDCs.
On the other end extensive agriculture is a system in which less labor and capital is used relative to the land area.
This is found more often in MDCS.
Wow you really know your stuff!
