  • good morning.
  • Hello ladies! good morning!
  • im going to call Chloe to see if she wants to go out for lunch 
  • Ugh. Did u see what she was wearing...? she is always dressing so improper.
  • Oh my gosh, I know. That red dress...Looks like she's going to the bar.
  • Hm, i wonder who they are talking about ...oh Lisa is calling me.
  • Hey Chloe! I was wondering if you wanted to meet up at the cafe for lunch?
  • Yea for sure, i will meet you there!
  • I will be demonstrating an example of an interpersonal conflict in the workplace and how it affects people in the workplace and the organization
  • Lisa...I don't want to jump to conclusions or anything but, I overheard Zoe and Nora talking about a girl in a red dress... and how she dresses improper. I think they were gossiping about you, and if im being honest this isn't the first time. Im sorry im just telling you now
  • I knew they hated me. What's wrong with the way I dress? All I want is to look nice. And if it bothers them so much why don't they just tell me, im open to trying new styles. Why do they need to gossip about me?  
  • I must be the bigger person and do something about this... I'd hate to see our employees have tension with one another, creating a dreadful work environment 
  • Im going to assume you both aren't sure why I called you here. As your manager, it's my duty to set an example and prevent as much conflict as I can.
  • Nora is always criticizing what Lisa is wearing, she thinks it's not appropriate to be wearing a dress to work. Zoe is Nora's intern, she looks up to Nora and wants to be just like her so she tends to agree to everything she says. Chloe overhears them and thinks it would be unprofessional of her to ask who they are talking to and as their manager, she needs to set an example.
  • Im sorry to have caused this trouble. Thank you for your time. I will be sure to communicate any issues I have with you and with others to reduce conflict.
  • If you have any issues in regards to the clothing policy, please speak to me. I will be happy to discuss any issues you might have. Im going to encourage you both to apologize to Lisa
  • This morning the two of you were talking behind Lisa's back. That type of behaviour is not permitted here. My goal is to keep a safe and positive work environment. . 
  • Im sorry too, I do believe Lisa deserves an apology and I will make sure to give her one.
  • Lisa has no idea that Nora and Zoe were talking behind her back, She gets along quite well with her Manager Chloe so she decides to call her and see if she wants to go out for lunch.
  • Hey Lisa, we believe you deserve an apology.  The way we have behaved hasn't been the nicest nor professional. Im sorry.
  • I hope you can forgive us for the conflict we have created.
  • I forgive you both. I would have wished for you to have spoken to me about this but as of right now  I appreciate you guys apologizing,  
  • Chloe realizes that Lisa was the "red dress girl " Nora and Zoe were talking about. Chloe had to make a difficult choice, if she should be Lisa's friend and tell her what she heard or be her manager and not tell her anything to not result in a conflict...Chloe decides to be Lisa's friend in this situation. She tells Lisa and as expected its created conflict. Chloe has an important role at work and knows that if she doesn't do something about this issue it will affect the organization and her coworkers
  • Chloe called down Nora and Zoe to talk about the issue in her office, The conflict resolution she decided to use was to be open about changing the clothing policy. The conflict management technique used was collaboration, Chloe made sure to touch on Nora and Zoes issue but also maintain the fact that what they were doing wasn't appropriate, letting them know that taking initiative and apologizing is the best thing to do.
