On June 10, 1752, Benjamin Franklin flew a kite during a thunderstorm to collect an electrical charge in a Leyden jar, thereby leading him to understand the connection between lightning and electricity and discover the mysteries of the same. As time passed, he researched more about it and refined his explanation of electricity. He coined several terms like battery and conductor. Today, electricity plays a vital role in our lives. It is used for lighting, heating, cooling, refrigeration, operating appliances, computers, electronics, machinery, and public transportation systems.
At age 14, Philo Farnsworth was ploughing the potato fields on his family's farm; as he looked at the furrows, he saw a way to transmit parallel lines of light as electrons, which he called capturing light in a bottle. This is how he conceived his idea for television, leading, in 1928, at age 22, to his invention, the television. Today television is used as a means of entertainment, and awareness is used to spread news and information and advertise!
Joseph Nicéphore Niépce invented the first camera in 1822. To do so, he dissolved a light-sensitive bitumen in oil of lavender and applied a thin coating over a polished pewter plate. He then inserted the plate into a camera obscura and positioned it near a window in his second-story workroom. This is how the camera was created. Today cameras are used not just to take photos but also to take videos. We use them to keep images for memory, work or even studies.
