- our children were lucky to live past the age 10 and us poor don't have a lot of food, Us poor get into an angry mob. We make a few cash from working.

- Us poor only had these small grills that catch on fire 24/7. us poor depended on “fast-food” places called thermopolium so we can feed our families
- Well us poor children in Rome were sent to work instead of to school. They learned trades, such as leather working and metalworking, to help earn money for their families.
- Us poor crowded into tall apartment buildings. Others lived in small apartments above the shops where they worked. Without proper kitchens, the poor cooked their meals on small portable grills, which filled the rooms with smoke.We would be lucky if we even have an apartment.
