- Mrs Johnstone has 7 kids and 1 more 6 weeks overdue, the husband left Mrs Johnstone after finding out there is one more kid overdue, She is poor and struggles to feed her kids because she doesn't have a proper job.

- Mrs Johnstone was only excepting one child but now she is excepting 2. She already does not have enough money to support her other children but now she has 2 more?

- Misses Lyon is a rich women married to wealthy merchant, his name is Richard Lyons. Mrs Johnstone works as a house maid for Mrs Lyon and after figuring out Mys Johnstone is having twins she decides to as for one twin since Mrs Lyon can't have kids.
- Mrs Lyon manipulates Mrs Johnstone by forcing her to swear on the bible to give one of the twins after birth. Mrs Lyon choses one of the babies while Mrs Johnstone looks away so she doesnt know which baby she took.
- Mrs Lyon wants to move away because she doesn't want Mrs Johnstone seeing Edward, her baby since she seeing Edward all the time is not right and she is paranoid Edward is getting to know Mrs Johnstone.
