  • The police arrested me and put me in jail. They also found barrels of alcohol on the ship and port.
  • When I saw a Prohibition protest, calling for moderation or total abstinence for alcohol, I didn't really think they could make an impact.
  • I was charged with smuggling alcohol. After everything, I realised the quick money is not worth risky my life over. So, I decided to stop.
  • I am Edward, and I worked in a factory producing furnitures.My wages were low, but at least I could drink and forget.
  • Surprisingly, rum running from Canada to US was legal in Canada during Prohibition, just not in the US.
  • But, my first bootleg over the water was rather successful; I got way more money that I could ever earn by working a normal job.
  • Bootlegging over water was scary, so many thing could go wrong; fuzz shows up, wind blows over your boat, or you fall off the boat, it was risky.
  • By 1920s, most Prohibition laws were repealed. But, still I was in jail.
