- My atomic number is 11 and my atomic mass is 22.99. My density is 0.97mg/m3, my melting point is 97.81 degrees Celsius and my boiling point is 882.9 degrees Celsius but I'm solid at room temp!
- Good to know. Now for a few questions.

- I'm silvery, soft, a great conductor of heat and electricity, and yes, VERY reactive!
- Very nice, I've interviewed some of your family members, you guys tend to be pretty reactive! What are four words or qualities you would use to describe yourself?

- I am most often found in the form of sodium chloride (NaCl) but also sodium hydroxide (NaOH) sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) Sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and sodium oxide (Na2O).
- What compounds can you be found in?

- I was discovered in 1807 by Sir Humphry Davy. Because I do not occur on my own in nature, he had to use electrolysis to isolate me from my compounds. My name comes from the Latin root "sodanum" meaning headache remedy.
- So when were you discovered?

- I am often added to or found in food, I am used to de-ice roads in the winter, my compounds have been used as gasoline additives or found in synthetic detergents and dyes, and my vapor produces a yellow light used in some streetlights.
- Very interesting. What were your previous jobs?

- Yes! I am the 6th most abundant element on earth (making up 2.8% of Earths crust) and I have been recognized as the #1 most common Alkali Metal!! (Not to brag or anything)
