Hi Mrs. A, as you know we are in need of a new curriculum, what do you think is the most important factor to consider?
Thank your Principal for incorporating teacher input! The new curriculum needs to be comprehensive and content rich. According to Dr. Steiner high quality instructional materials will lead to more learning gains.

Hi Ms. Keys, I just finished talking to the principal about the new curriculum and I'm nervous because he doesn't want to invest for the more expensive textbooks.
Don't worry, I'll talk to him tomorrow and explain that new textbooks are actually priced similarly, and it's more cost-effective to invest in a better comprehensive curriculum than other interventions like a smaller class size.

By the way, even if the principal invests in the more comprehensive curriculum we simply don't have enough research to inform teachers what exactly makes it effective. There are no specific features or guidelines as to why one curriculum is more effective than another.
I think we still need the more comprehensive one, think of what's the best for our students!
