- G0 phase is a form of the resting state, in which cells reside until they receive appropriate signals. G1 phase is a process during interphase, in which the cell grows and genetic material, known as DNA, are copied and grow.S phase is the period of wholesale DNA synthesis during which the cell copies its genetic content Now that the cell has grown with the chromosomes replicated, G2 produces more cells in order to prepare for mitosis
- So what exactly comes after interphase?!
- A cell cycle is a series of events that takes place in a cell as it grows and divides. A cell spends most of its time in what is called interphase, and during this time it grows, replicates its chromosomes, and prepares for cell division. The cell then leaves interphase, undergoes mitosis, and completes its division. The resulting cells, known as daughter cells, each enter their own interphase and begin a new round of the cell cycle.
