- The Period of Reconstruction Comes to an End
- At least slavery was abolished, but this current circumstance because of Reconstruction is no better.
- This was an absolute failure! If only people would listen to me and allow congress to harshly punish the South and protect all Freedmen!
- The Struggle for Equality Has Only Just Begun
- Freedmen still have a long way before they are truly equal in society. I wish to be apart of this journey and aid with my assistance in any way possible.
- Congress would assure freedmen an equal place in society if we could make the rules and punish the South.
