Storyboard Description

Dis is what truly happened

Texte du Storyboard

  • This takes place in Chapter 8 opens, Cole has made the decision to attack the Spirit Bear because it did not show fear. Cole believes that everything and everyone must fear him, except his dad. His attack on the bear goes horribly wrong as the bear defends itself and then continues to brutally savage Cole until he is crying out for the attack to stop. While Cole is able to cause some damage to the bear (he was able to stab it with a knife and also tear out a fistful of its fur), the bear does extensive damage to Cole in the form of ripped skin, multiple contusions and broken bones throughout his body (arms, ribs and legs). It is interesting, at this point in the story, to think back to Peter's request of the Circle of Justice, that Cole learn what it feels like to have his head smashed. The bear's attack lasts until Cole begs for it to stop: ''No! No more!'' After the attack, the bear remains standing over Cole for some time before finally leaving. In his contemplation, Cole cannot understand why the bear was not afraid of him. He was in the situation he was because the bear was too ''stupid'' to know to run away.
