Hello, I am a Math teacher at Roycemore School! I teach both middle and upper school.
The old schedule being followed was extremely inconvenient for me. Having classes longer than 70 minutes twice a week made it very difficult to keep the students attentive. It also meant having to teach multiple topics a day and setting longer assignments that students did not want to complete.
The schedule was so inconsistent. On some days I did not get any breaks and my lunch time needed to be used for preparation time, while on other days I had only one class to teach. I wished lunch was longer!
The worst part was the faculty meeting on Thursday. Even though the students dismissed early, us teachers finished later. Waiting till 4pm seemed so unnecessary! We hoped we could go home at our usual time and have a remote meeting.
To my relief, a group of students from Northwestern University came to interview me regarding my opinions on the current schedule. They promised to try and come up with a solution to our problems!
I now have a fair lunch time, get adequate breaks between classes, and have an ideal class length of 60 minutes thanks to the Super Schedulers!
Even though they could not accommodate all of my wants, Team Super Schedulers surely made my job much simpler!
