  • ...
  • I really do love our friends, but I sometimes I can't stand the comments they make...
  • Sasha's flashback to her birthday party...
  • Bobby's flashback to gym class...
  • Did you hear Bobby was posting on Twitter that he's bisexual? Hahaha!
  • Dude, he's obviously just gay and doesn't want to admit it yet.
  • The things that I've overheard them say have made me question my own sexuality. They don't understand how hurtful it is.
  • Trust me... I totally get it. They have made me feel the exact same way.
  • Sasha isn't into girls... she just loves the attention from the guys. She had a boyfriend freshman year.
  • KISS! KISS!
  • You're obviously faking it. If it's really true then make out with her and prove it!
  • Wow Sasha... That's really horrible. I didn't know that this happened to you too.
  • Yeah, I've never really told anyone before.
  • I have a boyfriend but I haven't told anyone yet. I feel like it will just feed into the narrative that I'm gay and in denial.
  • That's awful. My last relationship ended because I was scared to tell people and have them think I am faking being bi.
  • It's so unfair that we have to feel like our identity is invalidated all the time.
  • Well we should get to class, but let's talk about this again later.
  • Ring!
  • Have a good afternoon Bobby, see you tomorrow!
  • At Sasha's House
  • The Next Day at School...
  • I don't know sweetheart. Wouldn't things just be easier if you picked a side?
  • I don't understand, Mom. Why do people care so much about who I like? They're just so mean and gross about it.
  • Because even though my attraction to girls supposedly isn't real it's also heavily sexualized. Boys think it's a show for them and girls think I'm predatory and always hitting on them.
  • Bobby, nobody understands what I'm going through but you... Even then it's different because I'm a girl.
  • I never thought of it that way...
  • What do you mean? Why because you're a girl?
  • Today students, we're going to learn about another queer identity: bisexuality. It is generally defined as an attraction to two or more genders. There are a lot of misconceptions about this label.
  • Sex Education:Bisexuality
  • Bisexuality? That's not real right? That's just what guys say when they're not ready to admit that they're gay.
  • Hahaha! Or what a girl says to get attention!
  • Sex Education:Bisexuality
  • Even though I'm currently married to my wife, I have an ex-husband, who I share a son with. Neither of these relationships invalidates the other. My sexuality is not dependent on who my partner is.
  • No, class. Bisexuality is a real thing. In fact, I myself am bisexual.
  • These problematic stereotypes you've mentioned feed into bisexual erasure, which is very harmful. It comes from an inability for others to understand that not everything is binary and people are capable of being attracted to more than one gender.
  • Such stereotypes also tend to value male partners over female ones and invalidate relationships between women. It is important for us to remember that this is a harmful false narrative that perpetuates patriarchal ideals. If any of you have questions about bisexuality, you're more than welcome to ask me about them instead of making false assumptions.

  • Thank you so much for telling us about that, Mr. H. It's made us so much more confident about our own sexuality!
  • Yeah, it's so nice to have an adult that understands!
  • Of course! If either of you ever need any support, my door is always open. It's so important to have a support system. I never had anyone to help me and I want to make sure that no one else has to go though that.
