- Scene 2 - Failure of emotion management
- You conduct happy therapies but you aren't happy yourself Kevin.
- I know! But, this is my job. I have to manage my own emotions in order to help others Jane.
- Scene 3 - Encounter with role strain
- How many times do I have to teach you the same note! It's tough for me to spare you extra classes every now and then
- But Mr. Kevin, I'm having a hard time remembering the lessons.
- Kevin is the instructor and he carries out weekly classes with people suffering from mental illness. He leaves a reminder after every session to make sure they are on time.
- Scene 4 - Discriminated
- Ugh, not even you guys! Hey, we can talk about some other time please.
- Nah bro. You don't belong with us. I can't be seen out with you!
- Kevin sits down to have a chit chat with his friend, Jane. They are conversing about the effort Kevin puts in everyday. He has been putting up with a lot of emotion labor lately.
- Scene 5 - Battling norms
- I must find out some way to be accepted by my friends, now that they found out I'm not like them.
- You have come a long way man. We were just kidding about your gender issues sorry.
- Kevin tutors James as a part-time piano teacher. After handling the therapy classes, it's difficult for Kevin to cope up and stay cool.
- Scene 6 - The grand surprise and elimination of stigma
- You guys are the best! For a moment I thought I lost everyone. I was terrified.
- Happy Birthday Kevin! We acted rude so that we can surprise you.
- Kevin faces discrimination once his gender identity comes out. Amidst everything, nothing is going as planned and he witnesses himself being labeled as a deviant toward society and friends.
- Hey Kevin, just heard you aren't straight! We can't be hanging out anymore bro, we don't need out either.
- Kevin is continuously bothered by the fact that he is not heterosexual. Rejected by his friends, he tries to find a way through to blend in with the way of the society.
- Kevin gets acknowledged by his friends. He worked his way up the ladder to earn a status. He is not perceived as a deviant anymore
- Working multiple jobs must be hard on you.
