Texte du Storyboard

  • After king David had settled into his palace and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies, he addressed the prophet Nathan, saying;
  • What ever you have in mind, go ahead and do it, for the Lord will always be with you.
  • Here I am. I remain in a cedar home, while the ark of God is placed in a tent. I should build him a house for him to remain in
  • But later that night, Nathan received the Lord's word saying;
  • Later that night.
  • Tell my servant David that this is what the Lord says. Are you the one that who will make me a house to live in. From the day I took the Israelites out of Egypt until now, I haven't lived in a home. I've been living in a tent and traveling from place to place.
  • The Lord tells Nathan what to say to The king of Israel, David.
  • Wherever I've traveled with the Israelites, have I ever told their kings, whom I trusted and commanded to look after my people, to build me a cedar home.
  • Scripture passage: 2 Samuel 7:1-3. In my own words, the thing happening in this scene is that king David is not sure if he should make God a house.
  • After that, God mentions David's past.
  • I took you from the field, from following the sheep to be Lord over my people Israel; and I have been with you everywhere you go, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will give you a great name, like the names of the great ones of the earth.
  • Scripture passage: 2 Samuel 7:4-6. In my own words, the thing happening in this scene is that The Lord wants to command David on what to do.
  • Later, God mentions that he will make David a house.
  • And I will choose a place for my people Israel to live and plant them, so that they will no longer be disturbed; and evildoers will no longer afflict them, as they did previously, because I named judges over my people Israel; and I will grant you rest from all your enemies. The Lord declares to you that he will construct YOU a 'house'.
  • Scripture passage: 2 Samuel 7:7. n my own words, the thing happening in this scene is that never in Gods existence has he ever asked someone to build him a house of cedar.
  • God says that he will raise up David's offspring
  • I will raise up your offspring to replace you, who will come from your own body, and I will create his kingdom when your days are over and you rest with your ancestors. He is the one who will construct a house in my honor, and I will establish his kingdom's throne forever.
  • Scripture passage: 2 Samuel 7:8-9. In my own words, the thing happening in this scene is that the Lord is talking about where he took David from and how he made him king to look after all his people Israel.
  • Scripture passage: 2 Samuel 7:10-11. In my own words, the thing happening in this scene is that the Lord tells Nathan the prophet to tell David that the Lord himself will make him a 'house'.
  • Scripture passage: 2 Samuel 7:12-13. In my own words, the thing happening in this scene is that when God says House he actually means a dynasty by saying that he will make him an offspring which will have a throne forever.
