- Hey Bobby! How did you like your Texas History Class today?
- Oh hi, Laura! It was super cool! We learned about the Eras of Texas History.
- Oh that sounds interesting! I LOVE Texas! What were some of your favorite eras?
- It was really fascinating! I want to film a documentary to describe my favorite eras by scene! I would have to start with Age of Contact, then the Spanish Colonial Era, Mexican National Era, Texas Revolution and the last of my favorites would be Texas in the Civil War.
- My name is Alonso Alvarez de Pineda and I am sailing from Spain. I am in charge of mapping the newfoundland's coast so others may explore this beautiful area!
- During the Spanish Colonial Era, priests like me, from Spain, were sent to build missions. At these missions, we taught the Natives the Spanish way of life.
- During the Mexican National Era, I , Father Miguel Hidalgo, gave a speech titled "Grito de Dolores" which called for an end to the Spanish Rule in Mexico. We gained our independence in this era.
- I am Davy Crockett and I was a famous defender of the Alamo during the era of the Texas Revolution. Texans were defeated at the Alamo but won our independence from Mexico at the Battle of San Jacinto.
- I am Abraham Lincoln. When I became the US President, there was a great division in our country over slavery and states' rights. Texas seceded from the Union to fight for the Confederacy during the Civil War Era.
- Wow Bobby - I can picture that documentary now. I can't wait to see it and learn all about the Eras of Texas History!
