  • Even though Spain opened the port later it still concerned the president. Napoleon wouldn't just sell the port to them, he sold the whole Louisiana Territory. The price was $15 million!
  • Alamo ( 1835)
  • Lewis and Clark went with 40 men, they began their expedition in a boat on May 14th, 1804 in St. Louis. Jefferson wanted then to look for a route to the Pacific ocean.
  • Oregon Trail (1811)
  • The law made every Native American living in the east of the Mississippi to move somewhere else. The tribes Choctaw, Muscogee, Seminole, and Chickasaw went to Oklahoma.
  • California Gold Rush (1848)
  • The president of Mexico, Antonio De Santa Anna was enraged to hear about the rebellion. The president sent a lot of Mexican soldiers San Antonio, Texas where 184 rebels had prepared.
  • Settlers living in the east wanted to begin large farms and discover their future. Families traveled from east to west following the Oregon Trail.
  • James Marshall, a carpenter, found gold near the sawmill of John Sutter. John tried to keep the find of gold secret, but soon the beans were spilled and people from around the world knew.
