- Elmer and the Dragon flew to Tangerina to rest for the first night. Elmer talked to an old gull and got directions to fly home.
- While crossing the ocean they were caught on a ferocious storm the dragon was unable to keep flying so he landed in a sandstorm and they both waited for the storm to pass.
- Elmer was able to see the green island from the sandbar but the dragon was so stiff he couldn't move to see it. The dragon rested and waited to dry off while Elmer went to go look for food and water for the dragon at the Island.
