- Paul Costa and Robert McCrae developed the Big 5 Personality Traits (openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism, or OCEAN). They believe that all people have these general traits in their personality. In the scene above, my friend Callum and I are working through a scene in the musical together, demonstrating OCEAN by collaboration to enhance the scene.
- How Bandura Sees Me
- Karen Horney was the balance of Freud's masculine bias for psychology, and was involved with the psychodynamic theory of childhood anxiety. Children have a desire for love and security when they're young. When I was little, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep, in which my father would sleep on the floor next to me to make me feel loved and safe, as shown in this scene.
- How Eysenck Sees Me
- Sigmund Freud developed the ID, Superego, and Ego. The ID is like the devil sitting on your shoulder, and the superego is like the angel sitting on your shoulder, and the ego is the controller or reality principle. Your personality is dependent on the balance of these three ideas. Being good at playing the piano is my ego, not practicing and playing bad is my ID, and practicing and playing well is my superego.
- How Rogers Sees Me
- Robert Bandura developed some Social Cognitive Theories. One theory that falls under this theory is the spotlight effect, which is assuming that people have attention focused on you when they actually don't. In the scene above, I think that everyone is focused on my ugly shoes, but they actually aren't looking at all.
- Hans Eysenck developed the Factor Analysis theory which includes two dimensions-introverts/extroverts and emotional stability/instability. He believes that we are on one side of both dimensions and that influences our personality. In the scene above, I am seen as an extrovert and stable, which when combined, shows a happy, morning person.
- Carl Rogers developed the ideas that we have a real self and an ideal self. Your real self is who you are and your ideal self is who you aspire to be. In the scene above, my real self is a lifeguard at the community pool, but my ideal self would be to be a nurse in the hospital saving lives that way.
