- Day 30, war breaks out in Afghanistan
- Alright soldiers this is war
- Heres your tent where you will sleep
- Combat starts
- 30 days after combat started the Afghan soldiers Attacks us and a bomb hit my tent.
- we need to get this guy to the hospital.
- Once i was stabilized they flew me back the the US to be closer to my family
- I have some bad news he is deaf
- After i found out I was deaf i was depressed and mad.
- Time to start rehab.

- Even though my physical health was good my mental health was still bad
- At first it was hard to communicate with my parents, but we got by by writing things down.
- A few days after I got our of the hospital I started to learn sigh language.
- Once I learned sign language I started to learn how to read lips.
- l saved up enough money to invest in a dog to hear things around the house like the phone or a door bell
- y of life.With the help from my doctors, friends, and family I was able to adapt to this new way of life
