- Hester walks out of the prison gates while having an "A" embroidered on her chest. She is carrying a 3 month olf.
- She walks through an unsympathetic mob.
- Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale, from the crowd, comes closer to Hester
- Confess your sins, woman!!Tell us who the father is!
- The crowd screams.Hesters'eyes widens as she sees a man coming out of the forest
- WHORE!
- The man signals her not to say anything. The man is her husband, Roger Chilligworth.
- Shhhh...
- Hester is embroidering an "A" on a tunic while her daughter Pearl sleeps on the cot next to her
- your doctor is here to see you!
- Roger comes to her cell with a prison officer.
- I dont have a doctor.
- Hester.
- The officer leaves and Hester finally looks up with shock and confusion.
- I see you've been busy but I'm ready to forgive you for cheating on me.
- Stupid woman! Never lets me finish. I'll forgive you as long as you dont tell anyone who I am. Refer to me as Roger Chillingworth.
- but why?..
- Best believe, I will find out who the father is.
- Chillingworth walks out.
- Few months later..
- Hester gets out of prison and moves into a cottage
- Seven years later...
- I have been treating you for a long time, but your sickness does not seem to disappear. I am the end of my rope here.
- Dimmesdale sits on a chair while chillingworth examines him.
- Maybe.. your disease is a punishment by Him. Perhaps you are hiding something. a little secret.
- That is none of your business! That is between god and I
- Dimmesdale storms off to his room and chillingworth secretly follows him. Dimmesdale takes off his shirt to reveal an "A" burned into his chest.
- Election day...
- Dimmesdale delivers a Sermon. There is a crowd surrounding the stage, in the crowd are Hester and Pearl.
- Dimmesdale calls Hester and Pearl on the stage.
- They awkwardly stand on stage as Dimmesdale unbuttons his shirt.
- I should have stood with them here, seven years ago...
- Dimmesdale rips his shirt open to reveal the scarlet letter.
- did he do this to himself??
- Is this a sign from god?!
- yes...
- My dearest daughter, will you forgive me?...
- No. I need to repent for our sins...
- Dimmesdale falls to the ground and Hester holds him.
- Will we be in heaven together?
