- A vengful Montresor meeting Fortunato at the carnival in town and telling him he has something that might pass for Amontillado(actually a light spanish sherry).
- Montresor leading Fortunato down into the Montresor family vaults. Fortunato begins to cough violently because the damp vaults were coverd in nitre. Montresor says we must go back, your health is very important. Fortunato insits that he is fine and says he shall not die of a cough and apperanlty wine is his anidote. So Montresor gets a bottle of wine and serves it to both of them and Fortunato cheers to a long life (little does he know).
- Montresor leading a heavily intoxicated Fortunato deeper into the Montresor family vaults after their dialog about a Montresor's family coat of arms that says in Latin nemo me impune lacessit, no one attacks me with impunity. Later on, Fortunato makes a hand movement that is a secret sign of the Masons. Montresor doesn't recognize the sign but claims he is a Mason. When Fortunato asks for proof Montresor shows him a trowel that he pulled out from his cloak. The trowel is supposed to state that he is an actual stonemason.
- As they continue their journey they reach the so-called place where the Amontillado is being stored. Drunk Fortunato goes to the back of the recess the Montresor traps him to a stone.
- Montresor begins to plaster the wall together. As the alchohol wears off Fortunato starts screaming and Montresor screams right back at him to tease him. The wall is still trying to get finished Fortunato falls silent. When Montresor is about to finish Fortunato starts laghing think that this is a joke. Sadly it is not...
- Soon enough, Fortunato yells For the love of God, Montresor! he stops answering Montresor after he calls him twice. After no respones, Montresor says that his heart feels sick because of the dampness of the catacombs. Then plasters the last stone in place. No mortal has disturbed them for half a century.
