- Four is the 2nd book in the series Divergent is the series there are Factions (Groups) Abnegation, Erudite, Dauntless, Candor, and Amity Tobias Eaton and his dad are Abinigation. As Tobias gets back from his aptitude test and his dad asks him what he got on it he did not tell his dad that he was able to tell that it was not real. Earlier the proctor of the test hesitated and told him Abnegation.
- When each person is a certain age They choose a new faction or stay in the one they are born in. His dad wants him to stay in abnegation but he wants to escape. The reason Tobias is holding a black shirt is to show that he chose dauntless, the faction of the brave.
- In order to successfully and officially join the faction is an initiation which is a Bundle of obstacles to show the Faction members you are meant to be there. The first initiation was jumping off a moving train onto the building next, they will be asked to jump off the building into the unknown. (there is a net down there). After everyone jumped it was just him and Amar He had to Jump. 
- The next initiation was to see all their fears in order to be dauntless you have to know your fears, The Syringe makes Tobias and all the other initiatives see their fears and their worst nightmares. 
- Amar told Tobias that he only had four fears, He was surprised to find out that he had broken the high score and only had four fears in the fear landscape. All the others had seven or eight fears. 
- The other initiatives started to call hm four.
