स्टोरीबोर्ड पाठ

  • Solomon is Appointed as Next King
  • THIS WILL BE YOUR NEW KING!
  • I will be a wise king.
  • But then that will get to my head.
  • And turn away from God because I want to worship other gods.
  • King David Dies
  • “I am about to die, like all men must. But you are growing stronger and becoming a man. Now, carefully obey all the commands of the Lord your God. Carefully obey all his laws, commands, decisions, and agreements. Obey everything that is written in the Law of Moses. If you do this, you will be successful at whatever you do and wherever you go. And if you obey the Lord, he will keep his promise about me."
  • Lots of things to remember now.
  • A Man After God's Heart
  • Another reason he could've been called this is that he knew God has a much higher authority than himself. This is shown when he decided not to kill Saul because he knew that God had chosen Saul to be king and killing Saul would be disrespecting God's commands. Another is when he danced naked in front of his kingdom, proving that He was the king of David and the kingdom. So David relied on God and not his own strength because when he did, he mucked up, but was able to admit that and change it.
  • I think David was called a man after God's heart for a few reasons. David was a repentant man who understood the Holy Spirit; how it worked, was in touch with the Holy Spirit. He was a just king, portraying the gifts of the spirit. David spent lots of time with God, if it was worshipping or asking for forgiveness and compared to Saul who didn't understand this. ending in Saul being told, 'I never knew you.' He mucked up a lot but always knew when he was wrong and wasn't shy to ask for forgiveness and there was a balance because of this.
  • Adonijah, as the older brother, tried to have himself declared as the king but Bathsheba and Nathan convinced David to make Solomon the king. Solomon later became the wisest man on earth but disobeyed Gods commandments. His kingdom was split into two while his son reined because of his mistakes. Solomon net worth was more than $2 trillion.
  • 1 Kings 1:28-53
  • David knew that he was going to die so he told Solomon of everything he need to remember as the next King and who to not kill. David then, died and was buried in the City of David. David ruled Israel 40 years. He ruled seven years in Hebron and 33 years in Jerusalem. He died as a "man after God's heart."
  • 1 Kings 2:1-5
