- A father was so overjoyed after the birth of his child, he decided to give Dr. Fulham, the doctor who delivered his baby, a prized Collie pup from his litter. Dr. Fulham chose to have his apprentice, Marcellinus, have the pick of the litter and keep the puppy for himself.
- Woah! Down boy!
- Don't worry son, we won't hurt you, we're with the Royal Irish Fusiliers.

- After Dr.Fulham was drafted as a medic into the Highlander brigade, Marcellinus and Boots stowed away aboard the baggage car on the train Dr.F and the highlanders took to get shipped off to Europe. Marcellinus' plan was to keep Dr.Fulham safe and out of harm's way.
- HA HA HA!

- Marcellinus and Boots become active soldiers in the war. While searching for wounded soldiers, the Germans start to bombard the area and Boots and Marcellinus get separated from Dr. Fulham and are unable to find him.
- Doctor Fulham!! It's so good to finally see you again!
- *Ruff!*
- Donnie!!
- Marcellinus!! It is good to see you too son.
- After escaping the German gunfire, Boots and Marcellinus fall into the trenches of the Royal Irish Fusiliers. Because they were allies, Marcellinus and Boots stayed and fought with that battalion.
- On Christmas Eve, the Germans decided to have a Christmas truce with The Royal Irish Fusiliers to spend time to recover the dead bodies and to have a good time drinking and passing the soccer ball. During this time Marcellinus meets a young German soldier who really takes a liking to Boots. They converse while other people also talk and have a good time.

- Marcellinus A.K.A "Donnie" gets wounded by the young German soldier that took a liking to boots during the Christmas truce. He is reunited with Dr. Fulham while he is being transported to the medical tent.
