- Sad to say it's not. It's hard to catch fish nowadays unlike before. I'm wondering what has been happening in the ocean. So terrible!
- Even tourists are no longer visiting our place. Is it because the water is already polluted?
- Yes, I agree not only the ocean but other bodies of water are already polluted.
- How's your work? Was it a good catch?
- Many indutries dump industrial waste such as hazardous chemicals into the bodies of water. The dumping of the hazardous substances reduces the oxygen levels in water resulting to its pollution. Not only that, spills or leaks from oil and chemical containers have a devastating impacts n sorrounding ecosystem. Even the waste water discharged like grey and black water from residents, commercial institutional and public facilities is another source of water pollution. The waste from factories and agricultural land gets discharaged into rivers or lakes. Garbage thrown into water makes it more polluted.
- We, as human beings are the main reason for the contamination of water, which can be affected in many ways. There are still many companies that fail to treat their waste and they end up pouring large quantities of industrial waste contaminates from their industrial processes into rivers and the sea. Industries and industrial sites are the major contributor to water pollution. They produce toxic chemical and pollutants and though regulated, some still do not have proper waste management systems in their place.
- Human activities that generate domestcic sewage and toxic waste cause water pollution by contaminating water with discase causinng microorganism and poisonous substance. Contaminated water and poor sanitation are linked to transmission of diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid, polio, and various other diseases such as skin diseases, malnutrition and even cancer.
- Water is vital for all life. All plants and animals need water to survive. There can be no life on earth without water. It is needed for various purposes everyday. We neeed water for drinking, cooking, washing, cleasing, etc. Just like there is no life without oxygen, there is no life without water. Water is the basic necessity for the functioning of all life forums that exist on earth. Water ensures food security, livestock security maintain organic life, industrial production and to conserve the biodiversity and environment. Conversing water and preventing water pollution are imporatant to assure that is safe to use for ourselves and future generations.
- Water is the essential elemets for all human beings, animals and plants, we can live without food but not without water. We have to remember that clean water is a key factor for economic growth, deteriorating water quality is stalling economic growth, worsening health condition, reducing foor production and exacerbating poverrty. Let us protect water at all cost.
