- Correct and in fact Glycolysis occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell. This stepdoesn't' require oxygen. Glucose is converted into a more useful form called pyravute. 2 ATP's are alsotoken to start up. This transforms into 2 molecules of pyruvate, 2 NADH, and 4 ATP.

It also requires energy and produces water as a waste product and makes a lot of energy for the cell of ATP. In this processelectrons carried by NADH and FADH are pulled out of the molecules to produce ADP to ATP.
