Unit 2 Performance Task

One day in Philadelphia of May 1787, A bunch of delegates came together to change history as we know it forever.
Today we shall get rid of the Articles all together.
So they split into 2 groups. 1 for large states and 1 for small states.
Houses in Congress: 1.) House of Representatives 2.) Senate
# of Representatives in Legislature: Based on : Population of State
The Virginia Plan By: James Madison
Branches: 1.) Legislative 2.) Judicial 3.) Executive
Branches: 1.) Legislative 2.) Judicial 3.) Executive
The New Jersey Plan By: William Paterson
Houses in Congress: 1.) Congress
# of Representatives in Legislature: Equal for all states
Larger states side ( Virginia Plan)
There were arguments, of course.
Smaller states side (New Jersey Plan)
But eventually, there was a conclusion.
In 6 months:The end result is The Great Compromise

And that was how the Constitution was made! But 9 out of the 13 states had to approve it, but that's a whole other story.
