Merctutio and Benvolio are walking the streets as Benvolio suggests they go inside. Mercutio declines the offer as Romeo joins them. Tybalt comes up to them and starts verbally attacking Romeo. Mercutio defends Romeo and he and Tybalt begin to fight.
Romeo, You are a bad man
You have hurt me!
You know what? I don't like you, let's fight!
I do not care about our rivalry, we are the same
I don't have anything against you Tybalt
Romeo, attempting to restore peace, throws himself between the combatants. Tybalt stabs Mercutio under Romeo's arm, and as Mercutio falls, Tybalt and his men hurry away. Mercutio dies, cursing both the Montagues and the Capulets: “A plague o' both your houses.” Tybalt storms back into the scene as Romeo draws his sword and kills him.
Mercutio is dead!
One of us has to go with him.
Juliet is waiting for night to see Romeo as the Nurse rushes in with the news of the fight. She tells Juliet about Romeo's banishment and says she will get him from Lawrence' cell to comfort her.
He's dead. he's dead, he's dead!
Will you talk good of him who killed your cousin?
Romeo has killed Tybalt. Shame come to him!
Come, civil night,Thou sober-suited matron all in black, And learn me how to lose a winning match, Play'd for a pair of stainless maidenhoods.
Well I won't talk bad about my husband.
He will not be shamed.
What has happened!?
You are lucky the Prince has only banished you.
The friar sets up a plan. Romeo will visit Juliet that night, but will leave Verona before the morning comes. He will stay in Mantua until the news of their marriage is spread.
No, Romeo, you have much to be grateful for, you and Juliet are both alive.
How is Juliet? Does she think I'm a murderer now? I will just stab myself.
'Tis torture, and not mercy .Heaven is here, Where Juliet lives; and every cat and dogAnd little mouse, every unworthy thing.
Capulet says Juliet will abide by his decision and sets up the marriage for Thursday. Little does Capulet know, Juliet only wants to marry Romeo so she will refuse to marry Paris.
I will know her thoughts by the morning.
I haven't talked to Juliet recently about marriage.
Sir Paris, I will make a desperate tender Of my child's love. I think she be rul'd In all respects by me; nay more, I doubt it not.
Once Romeo leaves, Juliet's parents tell her that she will marry Paris. The Nurse advises her to go through with marrying Paris. Juliet hurries to the friar, vowing to never trust the Nurse's advice. If friar is unable to help her, she comments how she has the power to take her own life.
I must go, or be put to death
I will stay, let me be put to death.
That light is not daylight, but some meteor that the sun exhales.
You must go, that is the lark tune. Be gone! More light and light it grows.
