- Hi, my name is Lo Van Nguyen. I came from Vietnam to America in 1979
- For six months I stayed in that prison and dug a hole out of the ground. One day I escaped with a few other guys.
- I was put in a Newspaper and two Unitarian churches (New Bedford and Fairaven) had a meeting and brought me here.
- But then communists came. They treated people badly so I decided to flee with my family.
- After three years of running, they found me and put me in jail for no reason.

- I started fishing when I was six or seven so I was already prepared for working in New Bedford's booming fishing industry. I now live with my wife, Muk and I currently fish for scallops on the F/V Hunter and the F/V Kathryn Marie
