- My presentation will have three parts. First I will talk about the economic benefits of increased food-based tourism in Malaysia. Next I will explore the topic of sustainability and how food tourism can contribute to both tourism development in terms of destination promotion and overall development and lastly I will go beyond the economic benefits and talk about how gastro-tourism can help empower local food cultures and strengthen the sense of belonging felt by the citizens of a food-tourism destination.
