Započinjanje jedinice ili lekcije s ključnim rječnikom koji će studenti vidjeti u svojim lekcijama ili prezentacijama pomaže u cjelovitom razumijevanju i zadržavanju. U ovoj će aktivnosti studenti izraditi mapu pauka koja definira i ilustrira ključne rječnike povezane s arktičkom / subarktičkom regijom i njezinim prvim narodima . Svaka će stanica sadržavati pojam, njegovu definiciju i ilustraciju koja prikazuje značenje. Kad studenti definiraju i ilustriraju svaki pojam, svladavaju njegovu primjenu i zadržavaju ga kao dio svog leksikona.
