  • Would you buy her, that you enquire after her?
  • I would scarce trust myself, thought I a sworn the contrary, if Here would be my wife

  • if I see anything tonight why I should not marry her, tomorrow in the congregation, where I should wed, there will I shame her

  • And thought Margaret was Hero?
  • Two of them did, the Prince and Claudio, but the devil my master knew she was Margaret
  • When the soldiers arrive at Leonato's home, Claudio and Hero's old emotions towards each other are quickly brought to life, falling into love instantly. Claudio and Hero pledge their love to one another and decide to marry. In this scene, Claudio is talking to Benedick about how beautiful Hero is, Benedick is confused and asks him if he is thinking of buying her (marry). Claudio goes on to say "even if I had sworn never to marry, that I couldn't trust himself if Hero would marry me", meaning if Hero would have him as her husband he wouldn't refuse.
  • "All you that see her, that she were a maid By these exterior shows? But she is none. She knows the heath of a luxurious bed. Her blush is guiltiness not modesty"
  • Oh, God defended me! how am I beset!
  • Don John is known as a villain. He is not happy about Claudio and Hero's engagement and decides to intervene. He sends his companion Borachio off to make love to Hero's serving women, Margaret. At Hero's window, in the dark night, Don John's plan is to bring Don Pedro and Claudio to watch the act and fall Claudio into think Hero is unworthy. In the scene, Claudio states to Don John and Don Pedro that if he witnesses anything that convinces him not to marry her. He would shame her tomorrow and tell everyone what she has supposably done. When they find 'Hero' doing what Don John had claimed, Don Pedro states, what a disaster the day has turned into. Don John goes on to tell Claudio what a distster he has prevented.
  • You were brought into the orchard and saw me court Margaret in Hero's garments, how you disgraced her when you should marry her.
  • Sweet hero, now thy image doth appear in the rare semblance that i loved it first
  • As the watchman are doing their jobs, suddenly they are interrupted by Don John's associates, Borachio and Conrad. Borachio, who doesnt see the watchman brags to Conrad about what had happeneded that night. Borachio made love to Margaret, but was mistaken by Claudio and Don Pedro that it was Hero being disloyal. The watchman, quietly listened to the whole secret arragement and reveals themselves and arrests Borachio and Conrade taking them off to police officer Dogberry.
  • And when I lived, i was your other wife, and when you loved, you were my other husband
  • This same is she, and i do give you her.
  • Give me your hand before this holy friar. I am your husband if you like of me.
  • Everyone gathers inside the church to celebrate the edding of Claudio and Hero. When Friar Francis asks Cladio if he wises to marry Hero, CLaudio breaks out outraged telling Leonato to take back her unfaithful daughter. Leonato is shaken and cries out in dispair. Overwhlemed Hero sinks into the ground and fals unconcious. Leonato weeping tells Beatrice to let Hero die.
  • Dogberry and Verges enter the scene, dragging behind them the captured villians, Borachio and Conrad. Dogberry tells Claudio and Don Pedro that Borachio has confessed to the crimes which he was accused of and fouled Claudio into thinking Hero was disloyal. Shcked and horrified, Claudio and Don Pedro realise they hd wronly accused Hero. When Leonato returns and Claudio begss him for forgiveness. IN order for Claudio to clear Hero's name by telling the city se was innocent and to marry his brothers daughter who is very much like Hero. Claudio excepts the terms and weeps generously
  • Don Pedro and Claudio stand infront of the Fiar, while Hero, Beatrie and the waitng women enter, all wearng masks. Claudio vows to marry the masked women, but when the "niece' is unmasked Hero is revelled. Hero goes on to tell him that now that her name as been cleared she can move past the tramastic experience and be his wife.
