Hello, welcome to my space ship. I am currently on my way to your planet earth its a very interesting planet one of my favorites, but did you know it is divided into 4 layers? It has the crust the mantle and the outer and inner core i will tell you more as we get there.
This represents earths crust. The Earth's crust is its lightest, most buoyant rock layer. Continental crust covers 41 percent of the Earth's surface, though a quarter of that area is under the oceans. The continental crust is 20 to 80 kilometers thick. Its rocks hold four billion years of Earth history. Think of it like the peel of your banana.
Next we have the mantle. Earth's mantle is a layer of silicate rock between the crust and the outer core. It has a mass of 4.01 × 1024 kg and thus makes up 67% of the mass of Earth. It has a thickness of 2,900 kilometers (1,800 mi) making up about 84% of Earth's volume.
outer core
Here we are getting closer to earth as we speach but here we have the outer core of earth. The outer core is the third layer of the Earth. It is the only liquid layer, and is mainly made up of the metals iron and nickel, as well as small amounts of other substances. The outer core is responsible for Earth's magnetic field. As Earth spins on its axis, the iron inside the liquid outer core moves around.
inner core
And at last, we have the inner core of earth. Earth's inner core is the innermost geologic layer of planet Earth. It is primarily a solid ball with a radius of about 1,220 km, which is about 20% of Earth's radius or 70% of the Moon's radius. There are no samples of Earth's core accessible for direct measurement, as there are for Earth's mantle.
At last i have arrived on planet earth. hopefully you learned something new today. Well got to go goodbye!!
