- Detective Burnette pondered in her office. She had not had a client come seeking justice in what seemed like ages. Maybe that was a good thing. However, this tranquilty was soon shattered when a distressed woman burst into her office. She claimed her precious jewels were stolen and needed a detective to find them. Luckily, the woman was talking to the greatest detective of the era.
- Exposition
- Following what little clues the woman could provide her, Detective Burnette visited the location in which she was robbed. She scanned the musty alley with a well-trained eye, and soon spotted her first clue. A small, twinkling necklace flickered like a star, constrasting the darkness of the alley.
- Conflict
- She reached down to inspect the necklace, but was startled when the briefest flash of movement caught her eye. Suddenly, a figure leapt from the shadows. She called out but the sillouhette darted away. She caught a flash of light. Was the figure wearing the woman's jewels? Her detective instincts told her to pursue the shadow.
- "Hey, you! Stop right there!"
- Rising Action
- She pursued the figure for what felt like ages, until they stepped into the sunlight and the culprit decided to finally reveal themselves. To her surprise, the figure was not human, but a giraffe! And surrounding the giraffe were various trinkets and shiny objects, mostly likely stolen from other victims. Of course, how could she had not connected the dots before? The giraffe mafia was behind this!
- Climax
- "It's nothin' personal. Just business."
- The devious giraffe operative began to brandish a knife, but she kicked it away before it even had a chance to use it. Out of options, the giraffe fled the scene and abandoned the stolen trinkets. But she wasn't going to let this thief get away. "I know who you're working for and you will be brought to justice!" she shouted. She pursued the rogue giraffe all the way back to town, and notified the police she would need backup.
- Falling Action
- The police arrived quickly to the scene (and so did animal control) and rounded the giraffe up. It was sent to giraffe prison and the stolen jewels were returned to their rightful owners. However, this giraffe was just an operative, a grunt. It would not give up information on the shadowy giraffe mafia. This was just the beginning of Detective Burnette's search for justice.
- Resolution
