In this comic, I will be conveying how knowing your multiple intelligences will help you understand your personal strengths and how you can use this information to choose an area of occupation. I will thoroughly explain my top three intelligence types and careers paths that correspond to my intelligence types.
What Can Knowing Your Multiple Intelligences Do For You
So we’re finishing high school in a couple of months. Do you have a profession or a job you’re interested in?
I was like you too, but then I figured out my intelligence types and it helped me find out.
What? What is that?
Ah, no. How about you?
The multiple intelligences theory was made by a psychologist by the name of Howard Gardner in 1983, where he believes that one’s intelligence cannot be simply measured by an IQ test. He suggests that the method of learning and acquiring information varies from person to person and people are proficient in at least one of the 8 types of intelligences. Multiple intelligences range from the use of words, numbers, pictures and music, to the importance of social interactions, introspection, physical movement and being in tune with nature.
What are Multiple Intelligences?
I’m talking about the multiple intelligences theory! The theory states they are eight different types of intelligences and all humans have all of them in varying degrees. There’s a quiz you can take to understand which type of intelligence you’re most proficient in.
They are visual-spatial, verbal-linguistic, musical-rhythmic, logical-mathematical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic and bodily-kinesthetic.
That’s interesting! What are the 8 types of intelligences
Career exploration also involves understanding your strengths and weaknesses so you can maximize your talents and invoke your passions. By doing the multiple intelligences you can understand them and have a successful career!
My Multiple Intelligences
My top three intelligences are logical, intrapersonal and interpersonal. Since I know this, I can use them to choose a career path that corresponds to my multiple intelligences. This will allow me to choose a profession where I can capitalize on my strengths and apply my proficient intelligence type.
What?! That’s insane! Tell me more!
Wow cool! What are your strongest intelligences?
Another instance is when I’m making schedules and short-term goals for myself. I take into consideration multiple factors (like how much work I have or which project is due first) while also using results from my previous schedule, analyzing them, understanding the problem and applying that knowledge into my new schedule. (i.e. noting that in my previous project I didn’t do well, as I didn’t have the right time to put in the proper effort. And following that, by arranging my schedule so I have more time for the next project)

My top intelligence is Logical-Mathematical, which means I generally solve and analyze personal or work problems rationally with the use of logical reasoning and empirical proof.

Well the best personal example would be when I am trying to understand or help my friends with problems. Rather than worrying about how to make them feel better, my first instinct is to get all the facts down and logically try to help them solve their problem.

That’s interesting, I do see you do that.

Ohh. So, where do you find yourself doing such?

Career One: Economist
Hmm with these results , we may expect an increase in...
Career Two: Scientist
By adding this chemical, to this what would happen?
Individuals who are strong in logical-mathematical intelligence have an easier time solving complex problems as they excel in problem-solving. They also like making hypotheses and proving them through experiments. Economists possess logical-mathematical intelligence as they research and analyze data and apply them to issues within a variety of fields, such as education, health, development, and the environment. This correlates to the logical intelligence type as economists must have the ability to analyze problems logically, carry out mathematical operations, and investigate issues scientifically. I also find economists interesting as they formulate solutions to our world problems.
A scientist is a future career option for the people who have a logical-mathematical intelligence type. Since they thrive in settings where they can investigate issues scientifically and solve computations, a scientist would be a suitable occupation. This profession would be something I can see myself doing, as being a scientist allows me to conduct scientific research to advance my knowledge in an area of my interest. As a curious person this job would be fantastic for me.
