In the rising action of the short story "Three Skeleton Keys" written by George G, Toudouze. On one of the early mornings the men had been stuck, the metal seal in the window popped out. So, as a result of the seal popping out the rats were able to get into the lighthouse, while Itchoua had been sleeping. Itchoua had just enough time to get out of bed and scream for help from his two companions. Once, the other two men arrive at Itchoua's room they are ready to fight the rats that were flowing into the lighthouse through the hole in the window. They find their way through the lighthouse and up the stairs where they shut a trapdoor and seal it, leaving them and the few rats that had made it in before the door had closed. Once, inside the room and all the extra rats had been killed off Le Gleo being in a bad state started to go a little bonkers. He mumbled about the three skeletons and how there were going to be six. After, a few days the patrol had noticed that there was no light coming from the lighthouse and went to investigate. In arriving at the lighthouse the patrol had noticed the rats and seeing the rats going in/out of the tower they thought that the three men were long gone. In the arrival of the patrol some of the rats had noticed the team and decided to swim out and try to get on board, but were unsuccessful. Though, before the patrol team had left Itchoua had come back to his senses and thought to signal the patrol group with the light. Once, doing so they had gotten a reply from the patrol group saying that they would be back and try to help. In returning to the lighthouse the patrol team had one plan and had tried to put it to works, but sadly failed and had to think of a better plan.
