Kevin sees a child drowning, he realizes he must use his knowledge of trigonometry to save the baby.
Since Kevin knew that the baby was 18 feet away and that there was an angle of 73 degrees, he needed to find how far he could dive. Using cosine, Kevin sets up the equation cos73=18/xthen he divided 18 by cos73. His dive would have to be 61.6 feet or 61 feet and 6 inches.

18 feet
However Kevin needed to know the angle he would jump, since he knew that the pool was 18 feet away and that he has to jump 5 ft up, he needed to find what and angle he jumps at, so he used inverse tangent theorem and set up the equationtan^-1(5/18) He then concluded he would have to jump at a 15.52 degree angle.

5 feet
But there was another problem, the baby had drowned to the bottom of the pool. Since he knew that the pool was 18 ft away and that the angle from his head to the pool was now 62 degrees, he needed to find the depth of the pool. So Kevin set up the equation tan62=x/18then he multiplied 18 by tan62 to find that the pool is 33.85 feet deep.

But when Kevin jumped in the pool, there was no baby!
The baby was saved while Kevin was doing trigonometry. No one likes Kevin.
