In Act 1 we learned that the local girls were out dancing in the woods causing Betty to be in a coma. As well while they were in the woods Reverend Parris saw them.

In Act 2 it begins with Elizabeth being mad at Proctor since she knows he cheated on her with Abigail. After that things go down hill with them being accused of witch craft.
"she told it to me in a room alone" (2.2.168).
"You were alone with her?"(2.2.170).

"Do you witch her? I say to you, do you send your spirit to her"(3.3.1054).
"oh heavenly Father, take away this shadow"(3.3.1060-1061).
(with a hysterical cry Mary Warren, starts to run. Proctor catches her.)
"How do you call Heaven! Whore! Whore!" (3.3.1070-1071).
In act 3 things get intense with Mary Warren saying Abigail and the others are faking seeing things. Then John Proctor says to everyone that he cheated on his wife with Abigail and to even ask his wife because she never lies but ends up lying to not damage the image of her husband. She is being sentenced to death after giving birth and Proctor is sentenced to be hanged after Mary Warren tells everyone Proctor made her say those stuff about the girls lying.
