Demeter and Persephone

- Persephone was picking flowers for her mother Demeter.
- Hades, the mighty ruler of the underworld wanted a Queen to rule by his side. Since he was really lonley.
- He got Zues's permission and then captured Persephone and took her down into the underworld.
- Persephone was sad and would not eat anything. Her mother, Demeter was looking for her everywhere and soon found out where she was.
- She went to Zues and threatened him, and he sent Hermes to get Persephone. When Hermes arrived in the underworld Persephone had already eaten seeds from a pomegranate , which means she had commited to the underworld. She now liked the underworld now.
- Hermes made a deal with Hades that Persephone would spend 6 months in the over world with her mother and would spend 6 months in the underworld to rule with him willingly.
