Dr Heidegger's experiment

- “I am desirous of your assistance in one of those little experiments with which I amuse myself here in my study.”
- "Now, would you deem it possible that this rose of half a century could everbloom again?”
- “You might as well ask whether an old woman’s wrinkled face could ever bloom again.”
- Thinkwhat a sin and shame it would be, if, with your peculiar advantages, you should notbecome patterns of virtue and wisdom to all the young people of the age!”
- The four guests arrive at Dr. Heidegger's house and he explains to them that he wants to do an experiment on them.  All of the guests are old and have suffered misfortunes in their lives.
- “My dear old doctor,” cried she, “pray favor me with another glass!”
- The doctor explains that he has water from the fountain of youth, which can reverse old age. The guests are skeptical, but after seeing a shriveled rose bloom again with the water they decide to trust the doctor. 
- “She promised me her hand, fifty years ago!”
- “No, no, I will be her partner!”
- “Dance with me, Clara!”
- After warning the guests to not make the same mistakes again as in their youth, Tte guests take a single glass but they are still not as young as they want to be. They ask the doctor for more.
- “Are we grown old again, so soon?”
- After drinking two more glasses, the guests are now much younger and are celebrating their youth. They all come back to thinking about their ambitions of when they were younger.
- The guests fight over the woman like they did in their youth, making the same mistakes as in the past. They also start becoming old again. 
- The guests  become old again but they don't learn from their mistakes. THey decide to go to florida to go to the fountain of youth.
