Don't worry I am in good condition and I am very surprised I even made it out of that battle alive or at least the first part of it. (Battle of Bull Run)Dear Amelia and kids, I am writing to you from Virginia and don't know when ill make it back to you. So far we've had 460 men die and I don't know if one of those men will be me in the near future. This first battle had only lasted two hours and now we're moving to Washington D.C and hoping for some luck there. I miss you all and hope to see you soon. Sincerely James.
