Phew! I'm glad Maci spoke up...I don't learn by looking at the board.
I'd like you to show me 5/12+6/12= who wants to go first?
FractionsUGH, I'll FAIL!
I know we have been working on fractions but I just can't seem to understand them.

Yay! I was too embarrassed to tell you I need to draw it out in order to understand. Now it makes sense!
Fractions are a tough concept to learn. Some students learn better by drawing a picture, using counters, or being shown a similar connection to the real world. Let's draw this out together and then we can use the classroom clock to help us.Then, I'll order a pizza and we can EAT the math problem! Sound fun?

I am really interested to learn more about fractions! You mentioned pizza, a pizza is like a fraction isn't it? Now I get it!
Thank you, thank you! I understand how the clock works. My dad told me that when the big hand points to the 6 it is 1/2 past the hour!
You are all so smart! I should have given more methods for working the problem to begin with! Please never feel embarrassed to speak up. It turns out we were all confused.
